A Proud American

I am so proud to be an American today.. It has finally come... an end of an era- or should i say an Error... it is now Obama's turn to lead our country into some what of an order that we can all follow.. I am so emotional, that a country like the US has to go through so much... We as a nation have failed to secure one another in this tragic time of need. WE steal, lie, hate, and cause other chaos just to survive, i can not wait until some peacefulness arises after the storm has settled. i do not know how Obama is gonna do it... but i hope he has the patience and power to figure out how the super power of the world is going to get back on its feet. He has made very big promises and i hope he will be able to at least accomplish some of them. this nation does not need another failure, but a president that is preaching about hope, change, wisdom... as Obama has been doing! i wish him much luck and success in his 4 years in office!

I believe President Obama will do his best to make good on his promises. But there is one thing we must keep in mind; he cannot do it alone. Our government is structured to limit the president’s power; it's called "checks and balance". He will need to get the House of Rep's and the Senate on his side in order for him to make a "major" difference. Although I am hopeful and believe we have the right man in office, I can't help but reflect on the past bickering and animosity among the two parties. It's time that the Democrat's and the Republican's come together for a greater purpose, to serve the "Americans" and not serve solely on partisanship. I hope that for once, in all most a decade, that the government can pass policies for the greater good of the people.

I think Obama has a long road ahead of him but for some reason, I feel safe with him. And quite honestly I've never felt this way towards any of our presidents. As corny as it sounds, there's just something about him that makes me believe in him. Most importantly, I think this the most critical point in time where we all have to pull together and make these changes together.

Amen!!!!In this past week I have felt so overcome with emotion, hope and love as the obama family enter the white house that I almost want to weep. This is a magnificent event in the history in the U.S. and I'm so greatful that I get to live through it. He's already been making changes before he entered office and i'm excited to see the changes progress.

I am also excited, proud and hopeful that our new president will make much-needed changes in our government. But most importantly I am really glad to see that people are coming together for one common cause. Some say the American people were united post 911, but the major different is that we are not united in fear anymore, but in hope for positive change. President Obama has set the tone of unity and peace, now it is up to the American people to unity and as he said in his speech, "dust ourselves up and begin re-making America"!

The emotion is remarkable. We need to do what BO says, however, and turn to ourselves and ask: what are we going to do to change, since in many very important ways, change for us individually must come from within. Will we transfer the heartfelt emotion of HOPE into specific new practices in which we can develop FAITH? What is the difference, in fact, between HOPE and FAITH?

I DONT KNOW WHAT OBAMA WILL DO, I DONT KNOW WEATHER OR NOT OBAMA CAN EVEN LIVE UP TO OR REALISTICALLY ACCOMPLISH SOME OF THE GOALS AND PROMISES HE HAS SET OUT TO ACCOMPLISH, BUT I AM VERY GLAD TO FINALLY HAVE SOME CHANGE, AND ALTHOUGH OBAMA MIGHT BE SIMILAR TO OTHER POLITICIANS I FEEL THAT HE WILL BRING WHAT IS EXPECTED OF HIM.....CHANGE! DONT LET US DOWN.

Early last year, I didn't believe Obama had a chance of winning, but he has proven me wrong. I didn't think the United States was ready to see a minority run the country. I'm happy he has won because now I can finally say to my students, you can become anything you want to be including becoming President of the United States, and truely mean it. So I do hope he does accomplish all or some of his promises because he has already made some change just by becoming President.

Why does it feel like everyone on the media keeps on talking about his stimulus plan as a negative? I don't feel like the house of reps or the senate really want to work with him. For the first time in a long time, I feel happy about our president. Is it to sad to say that maybe some people want to see him fail? The media is following him like crazy, and can they stop talking about his phone already!! There are more important things like the economy to talk about. People also disagree with his decision to close Guantanamo in a year. I would like to see some more positives from the media, we will see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Many people are counting on Pres. Obama to make big changes in our country and in our lives. Lots of people have high hopes that he will be the one to take us out of our problems. yes, it's true that he can help us but to an extent. I find much of what he said in his speeches inspiring. It's like he was telling us that we should help each other and that this is the time that we have to pick ourselves up as well as our neighbors, family and strangers. We cannot recover if we do not help the person next to us because if we let them fall, who will be there to pick us up? I don't feel that he is taking all of that responsibility of creating change in the U.S., he is letting everyone know that together we can face anything and make a positive impact. Perhaps, he will be the one to bring us all together regardless of what we look like, what we are, where we are from... and nothing can be better than that.

I’m very proud to be an American as well; honestly I have NEVER really understood or have been interested in politics until this candidacy. There was something about Obama that intrigued me enough to follow this past year. His debates and campaigns have really opened my eyes to alot. I think that he has alot on his plate that needs to be done and that he promises as well, but I don’t have any doubt in my mind that we are not going to regret electing him the President. I truly believe that we as Americans have made one of the best decisions electing him and I’m sure we will be thankful for the progress that he plans to set forth.

I Truly love the way Obama talks about change in a positive way, however he will not be able to accomplish all his goals alone. He will need support coming from elected officials to make this change possible. I hope all elected officials work their differences, and help our beloved citizens live a better life in America.
