Nice comments from you

this was once the "I'm sick" post - but that's now history. Saved because some comments merit saving. = ) Also: some of you haven't figured out how to edit a post, so this might remind one of you to ask in class so all can learn.

I enjoyed are last class session, I was amazed at how deep sociology can go. Marx made some very great observations, considering the times that he was living in. Marx seemed to be such a futuristic thinker. The one thing I noticed, was that Marx did not put much on womens potential contribution to society as a collective whole.

I feel that Marx had a good plan, and the thought of a society that switched careers would be fun, but only for a limited amount of time. People would grow to become resent this process because it would seem to be forcing a certain job or social class upon them.

Marx did not say much about women, but he made the seminal point: the first division of classes is in the home, and from that comes the rest of the division of classes.
JR52: see in in class and we'll fix you up.
See you next week Monday for Durkheim, an entirely different look at society.
